WEEK 2 (16th - 22nd May 2022)

The second week of practicum ETP5016

16th May 2022: Monday (3 periods)

Wesak Day

Replacement classes have been conducted. 3 periods class with 1 AB and 5AG. The task was given to 1AB to conduct the activity to see whether they are able to use the apparatus in the laboratory. Some students in my class show that they are not interested in conducting the activity because they feel shy and sleepy in my class. I prompted them to come in front and try to use the apparatus with the teacher's help.

For 5AG students, I got 2 periods class students showed good effort in preparing the slides for presentation for each question assigned to them before class. Some students like Adam, Era, and Ahdiyat are low achiever students but they are able to explain with good examples with help from their mentors.

17th May 2022: Tuesday (2 periods)

Usually a night before attending the class, I will prepare the lesson that needs to be done the next day. For today's class, I got 2 periods class with 5AF. Revision for form 4 chapter 1(Measurement) from the module that has been prepared by physics unit MRSM Kuala Klawang for SPM preparation. Each student is assigned 2 - 3 questions to present during class by using the concept of reversed study where students will recall the subtopic they learned for each question we discussed in class.

18th May 2022: Wednesday (2 periods)

For 3IK, today I conduct the class on the new topic from form 4 KSSM theme Newtonian Mechanics (Learning area: Force and motion I). I show simple activity on describing the type of linear motion of an object in the states where the object is stationary, in uniform velocity and non-uniform velocity.

For 5AF, we are conducting the experiment today. The experiment is about a simple pendulum experiment. All the students were able to conduct the experiment by themselves because the experiment is simple. They need to draw the graph and collect the data from the experiment.

19th May 2022: Thursday (3 periods)

For 1AG, the students today will conduct the activity to measure accurately and consistently the quantities of length, mass, time, temperature, and electric current. Students like Farish, Fahmi, and Anis were able to identify the apparatus we need to use to measure all the quantities based on research from textbooks and the internet.

For 3IK, we got a double period today. So I already planned to go through problem-solving questions involving linear motion using equations. During the class, students look so intense because this is very new to them. Some students like Farissa, Ariff, and Adam, they are not good at mathematics, so they need extra time to digest the questions. The opportunity that I can take from this class today which is student-centered learning can be done throughout the class.

20th May 2022: Friday (1 periods)

For 5AG, the same goes for 5AF from the previous class. We do the revision for Practical Physics which we conduct the experiment of simple pendulum. All the students able to conduct the experiment by themselves but they need a guide from the teacher to draw the graph and correctly take the data and record it into the table.
